The program unzips a report package file  received from the Co-op network. The program has two modes of operation manual and automated.

The main menu provides access to all of the programs function and visual feedback of it's progress when operating.

The parameter screen allows the user to tailor the programs operation to their environment.

There are three paths or UNC folders that the user can specify. Automatic mode will be described later but that mode uses the Zip Archive folder and Delete after settings. Those settings are disabled and ignored in manual mode. The report to split out control tree is very easy to understand and use since it functions just like the directory trees in explorer. Click on the package ID to see the list of reports in that package and click on a report name to change it from being left in the combined report to a separate document and back again.

Once the program setup is complete all the user does in manual mode is start the program, click extract reports and choose the ZIP file to process.

The file is unzipped into the user’s TEMP folder or the Programs folder then processed into the user defined split of reports and the original extracted file with all the reports in it is deleted from the TEMP folder. The Zip file is left in its original location.

Once split the user can access the reports by clicking View Reports on the menu which opens Windows Explorer in the reports folder or by navigating to the reports folder manually.

Note that when the program creates the split out files it uses the same naming convention that the Co-op uses with the report description in the place of the group of reports package name. DYYMMDD.XXXX.REPORT DESCRIPTION.HTM. If the user has known extensions hidden in explorer the .HTM will not be seen as it is in the picture above.

Automated mode simplifies the process even more. Once setup all the user does is run the program and click extract reports. The program searches the defined ZIP folder, C:\Downloads in this case, if the days specified on the parameter screen for deleting stale report files is not 0 then old extract files (HTM files matching the Co-op naming standard) are deleted. Then all of the ZIP files in the folder matching the Co-op naming standard with only one file in the ZIP are processed, all other files in the folder are ignored. The file being processed is unzipped into the users TEMP folder then split according to the parameter settings into files in the defined REPORTS folder, again C:\Downloads in this case, just like in manual mode. But after the splitting is completed the ZIP file is moved into the ARCHIVE folder so that it is only processed once. The ZIP files will remain in the archive, just like they normally remain in the Download folder, until the user deletes or moves them to optical storage, etc.

With just four mouse clicks the user runs the program, deletes old stale files, unzips all of the files received since the last processing run and opens Windows Explorer file selection dialog in the extracted report folder ready to open and view the specific reports they want.
